Shake Your Tailfeathers

Today, CHOOSE JOY — Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

There are times in life where it can seem as if you are being surrounded in all directions, and then there are times when it seems to be going well, then bam, from around the corner you are hit unexpectedly. On those days and in those moments, joy can seem far away or not possible to be had. Especially in the darkness that our joy, as children of God can never be taken away from us.

How many of you have ever shaken your tail feathers? Now (smile) you may not want to shake your tail feathers in an actual fire fight, and I pray that not one of us are ever are in a live fire fight. However, all of us walk through spiritual warfare, trials, and tribulations.

Sharing the heart behind shake your tail feathers that you may not know. I generally instruct you to take a breathe, (take a deep cleansing breath and moves your shoulders, move hands from diaphragm up) a deep breathe to get you out of your head and to renew your mind. As children of God, our breath is the breath that He gives us. God is the authority over every breathe we take, from the first to the last. It is the first step in recognizing that we are not in control, and we don’t have to be, because God is in control of everything.

Then, I instruct you to set your feet, (set your stance) making sure your foundation is solid. We are shifting gears here because children of God are also warriors under God’s command. As Warriors of God, our feet are anchored to the Cornerstone. We do not want to be sifted away like chaff in the wind, so we are anchored. We stand firm on sound doctrine. — Psalm 16:8 I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

When the fiery darts, accusations, persecutions or lies surround you it is important that we ask one question – “In whom do you trust?” Then recognize your enemy and that what God says is the truth. The truth that lights the darkness, and He quenches all of of the fiery darts, accusations, persecutions or lies. So, as a Warrior Princess, you stand firm in who Jesus is and what He says about you.

Then, bend your knees and you are ready to move in whatever direction that God moves you. Shake your tail feathers (with a smile), give it all to God, and remember that joy is there because Christ is there, and He is joy Himself. Let go of all the worry and all the stress, shake it off and roll your shoulders.

Now, for those times when it seems like joy can’t be had or joy is so far away. You know those times when we get stuck in our heads and we can be used as our worst enemy against ourselves. Then we need to renew our minds. Choose to put on the mind of Christ. Then we look at what God’s Word says about the circumstance, look at His truth.

Ready to take a deep cleansing breath? As long as we are walking in submission under God’s command, breathing the breath of God, and standing firm on Christ, then the enemy cannot steal your hope, kill your joy, or destroy your identity in Christ, because the enemy has no authority. Keep your feet set, Stand Firm on what we know is right with God while you breathe. Just breathe.

However, if we, in our humanly weaknesses, stop trusting Elohim, and we step out of submission then ultimately we are not resisting the enemy. James 4:7 SUBMIT to God and RESIST the devil and the devil will flee from you. God will use all things for glory, all things. God is sovereign and knows when we are weak.

I know that I have done that more times than I would like to admit. One thing I have learned is that God is always there waiting on me, waiting on His Warrior Princess, to step back in submission and fight the good fight. Choose to be under God’s authority, submit. He waits for us with open arms, and moves everything around in a way that only God Himself can do, and take another deep breath, and allow His peace and joy to overflow again.
